Monjae Collective is a platform that supports the people rebuilding, rebranding and propelling Africa to a self-actualized future; by telling our stories; and rewriting prevailing false narratives about the continent and its people across the diaspora.

The Monjae Podcast & Blog

The Monjae Podcast and Blog are inspired by the Chinua Achebe quote: “Until the lions have historians, the story of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.”  Our conversation is an ongoing thread rooted in a rich and untold story; to address injustices to physical bodies, psyches, and lands of the people of Africa; and with agency and anticipation, the story of our rise to our proper inheritance.

Through an affinity group network, our call to action is grounded in strong conviction that change requires:

  • A Spiritual Foundation - regardless of religious inclination, this is a call to our collective conscience and purpose, rooted in love for self and humanity with active hope as our anchor;

  • Critical Mass - not necessarily in numbers but in resources and strategic cohesion; and

  • Accountability and Healing - acknowledging a history marred by deep trauma and exploitation, we practice accountability, identify growth priorities, and work collectively to build a self-actualized Africa.  This platform is built on a personal commitment to healing and growth, first of self then orbiting to the collective, as despite best intentions, we would inadvertently harm as we try to help, where our own wounds remain unaddressed.
